My Journey from SK to CESK
A small village Hariana in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab state in India is my birth place. It is situated at a distance of 15 kms from Hoshiapur on Hoshiarpur – Pathankot road. Presently my paternal uncle lives there with his family.
I lived there with my parents till my age of about 5 years. Thereafter we moved to Phagwara in Punjab due to transfer of my father in Phagwara. My father retired from Punjab State Electricity Board {now P.S.P.C.L.}, Jalandhar in 1997. My mother retired from Ropar Thermal Plant, P.S.E.B. in 1998. She is the first lady from Ropar Thermal Plant who got retired.
My parents worked for P.S.E.B. at various places in Punjab.
My father used to go to his office on bicycle till 1985. My mother too faced very hardship in her life. She is from Himachal Pradesh and she got job in P.S.E.B. in Jalandhar after marriage at the age of 38 years. She had to pass the paper of Punjabi of matric standard after getting job because she is from Himachal. She used to go to her office on foot in Jalandhar. She faced too much struggle in her life after marriage.
I studied up to second standard in Government Primary school in Phagwara. We used to live in PSEB quarter, which was 3 kms from Phagwara and it was situated on Phagwara-Chandigarh road. My elder brother, myself and my younger sister used to go to school on foot by road , which was 3 kms from our home.
